About Philly Parent Circle
We love kids. Our kids, your kids, new kids, older kids...all kids. And more than anything, we want them to see the magic of their community and surroundings and delight in all that is out there for them.
Philly Parent Circle was born out of a vision of two, real, down-to-earth moms. We spent a ton of time looking for things to do and see, places to learn and play ,and for great gear and gifts. And we loved learning and talking about what we knew and wanted to know amongst friends. We decided to build something that would help all the moms and other caregivers out there sort through all the wonderful things that Philadelphia has to offer and most importantly, connect them to the most comprehensive knowledge base out there – you.
Our site is designed to be efficient and interactive. Search for exactly what you want or browse the 1000's of listings available to you. Tell us and the philly parent circle community what you think about it. And ask the philly parent circle community what you want to know. Who We Are
We are two moms, each with two kids, ages 4 and 1. We found each other through a discussion board seeking a nanny share and realized then what a powerful tool a well-designed site could be. Three years, one wonderful nanny, 2 additional children , and a lifelong friendship later, we hope that many of you derive the same value as we did from this community and discussion board.
We've lived through pre-school searching, camp searching, new baby activities, nanny searches, playgroup formations, the birthday party social scene and so much more. We are far from experts on all things baby and children but hope we can offer our experienced-based knowledge to this community and hope also to learn a lot from you all.
The Specifics
Peggy Mathias, Co-Founder
Peggy currently lives in the Main Line after spending a number of years in the Queen Village neighborhood of Philadelphia. She has spent most of her career in brand strategy and marketing packaged goods running/ working on some of the world’s most beloved and recognized brands. She received her MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management and her BA in Economics from Cornell University. She lives and breathes the challenges and excitement of balancing work and family and spends her free time chasing after her 6 year old son, 3 year old daughter and infant twin girls.
Vanessa Linsell, Co-Founder
Vanessa is originally from London and has spent the last 10 years in the USA. She divides her time between London and the States which means a fair chunk of time spent on a plane with 2 small children (she would like to apologize in advance to any unfortunate passengers traveling on the same flight). Vanessa's background is in law through the Institute of Legal Executives and now, aside from running the operations of Philly Parent Circle, enjoys life as a stay at home mom to her two wonderfully rambunctious boys ages 7 and 3.
