It’s not often that we do event reviews but this one is pretty special.  Our friends at Arden Theater invited us to opening night for The Borrowers and it far exceeded expectations!  We went with 2 four year olds in tow, a little nervous that they wouldn’t be able to sit through it or it would be too complicated to follow. We were wrong on both counts – the sets were captivating, the acting was great and the story-line was captivating.  The best part was the curiosity that followed – questions about who was behind the scenes, how did they build the sets, do people really live under the floors, could we get the book and learn more about The Borrowers (turns out it has likely inspired many others since almost all area bookstores are sold out of the book!)…?  It is truly a wonderful way to introduce your child to the live arts and if you get a chance to see it, we think you’ll really enjoy it.  And to be honest, you really should wonder where all those things that go missing in your house end up…

Arden Theater’s The Borrowers will run until January 30^th, 2011.  Arden Theater also offers wonderful drama and other theater education classes for children aged preschool and up, ranging from 1 day to 8 week sessions.
