Please join us for a free event celebrating play on October 1^st, 10am-2pm at Smith Memorial Playground in Fairmount Park.  In addition to the 40 foot giant wooden slide and incredible play-space that has made Smith a runaway Philly Parent Circle favorite, we have invited some of your favorite local businesses to showcase their offerings to your families and bring you a taste of all the amazing resources our neighborhoods have to offer.

You and your family will delight as you walk through the different tables lining the walkways of the Smith!  You’ll touch and learn about live animals from our friends at Riverbend Environmental Education Center, do an art project with Palette Kids, learn a little French, Spanish, and Mandarin from our friends at Lango Philly, decorate cupcakes with Brendenbeck’s Bakery, enjoy a Djembe Jam session with Learn Listen Play, and rock out to a musical performance to Mama Mac.  Please click here for a complete list of all the fun!

Like all moms, we are also thinking ahead (and multi-tasking) and are pleased to offer mini-photography sessions by the very talented Stephanie Glover.  What’s better than capturing a beautiful fall moment at a beautiful Philadelphia setting?  Getting holiday cards done ahead of time, that’s what!

We will also dedicate a section of our event to playing safe.  Fingerprinting and safety information by Trooper Danea Durham will be provided throughout the event* and the PA Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics will be there to talk car seat safety.

And finally, food and drink will be offered so please plan to spend the day with us.  Some very special PPC kids will be running a lemonade stand where 100% of the proceeds with go to Alex’s Lemonade Stand.  Come out and support them as they give back to our community too.
